Firm members speak regularly at construction seminars and have authored numerous works in the field, including the text, Architects and Engineers: Law, Liability & Risk Management in the States of PA, NJ, MD & DE, (4th ed. 2002). Principal Paul Cottrell conducts seminars frequently on this topic which, at various times, have been cosponsored by the Pennsylvania Society of Architects and the Consulting Engineers Council of Pennsylvania. Mr. Cottrell served as Associate Director of the Construction Law Institute from 1982 to 1984 and he has also been a chapter author to two other works in the area: Legal Handbook for Architects, Engineers Contractors, Vol. 2 (1986), and Architect and Engineer Liability: Claims Against Design Professionals (2d ed. 1995) (chapter dealing with liability for shop drawing review). Tighe & Cottrell is a professional affiliate member of the American Institute of Architects, the Consulting Engineers Council, American Builders and Contractors, and the American Subcontractors Association.
