The firm has had major involvement in the litigation of environmental issues, ranging from the environmental effects of land use practices to toxic waste lawsuits. The firm also consults with clients on a regular basis on contracting as a risk management tool with regard to these exposures. Members of the firm are actively involved with the Hazardous Waste Action Coalition of the American Consulting Engineers Council. Our interface with HWAC has kept us on the cutting edge of liability and contract proposals to ameliorate the frequency and severity of such risks.
Members of the firm have been involved in major landfill disputes, underground storage tank regulation, Superfund litigation, asbestos litigation, and complex negotiated settlements with the federal government in CERCLA and RCRA claims. The firm currently serves as special legal consultant to several engineering firms throughout our four state area who are actively engaged in hazardous waste projects.
