The firm provides direct defense, litigation management, and insurer representation in a wide variety of professional negligence actions involving lawyers, physicians, hospitals, architects, engineers, brokers (both real estate and insurance), accountants and others. Several members of the firm lecture and write regularly on issues of professional liability.
With regard to the professional responsibilities of insurance agents and brokers, Mr. Cottrell has taught CPCU6, "The Legal Environment," and he is a contributor to the text Adjuster's Reference Guide (1986). Mr. Cottrell is coeditor along with Joseph Monteleone of the text Corporate Directors and Officers: Liability, Insurance and Risk Management (NYC, Executive Enterprises, Inc. 1989). Paul Cottrell also served as a reviewer for the text Professional Liability Insurance (Dallas, 1990, IRMI) by Robert Bregman and Jack Gibson of the International Risk Management Institute, Inc.
